Description
Need to fill a water tank, irrigate a growing area or supply water away from mains electricity? The Flocea 24 V 280 W solar surface pump transfers clean water using one compatible 400 W solar panel. Its brushless permanent-magnet motor and integrated MPPT controller combine pumping and solar power management in a compact unit for professional irrigation and water-transfer installations.
Solar water pumping for irrigation and tank filling
Growing and irrigation
Feed a storage tank or an irrigation system sized for the available flow and pressure. For drip irrigation, check emitter requirements, filtration and pressure regulation.
Water storage tanks
Transfer clean water into a tank or reservoir. Storing water pumped during the day lets you use it later without needing the pump to run at night.
Farm water supplies
Fill a reserve for livestock watering or other farm uses. Daily output depends on sunshine and the total head of the installation.
A compact pump with integrated solar control
One solar panel
The reference setup uses a single compatible 400 W panel, keeping the solar array compact for a small pumping installation.
Brushless motor and MPPT
The permanent-magnet motor has no brushes to replace. MPPT tracks a suitable electrical operating point as available solar energy changes; it does not guarantee constant flow.
Operating protections
The documentation lists overload, underload, locked-rotor and overheating protections. These complement correct sizing, installation and supervision.

Work out the total head of your installation
Before comparing flow rates, estimate the total head the pump will have to deliver. Two measurements are enough.

Total head ≈ H + 10% × L
- H: height difference between the (lowest) water level and the outlet.
- L: pipe length to the outlet; the 10% covers friction losses.
- Pressure needed at the outlet (sprinkler, drip line): add 10 m per bar.
Example: tank 8 m above the water level, 50 m of pipe → total head ≈ 8 + 5 = 13 m. With 1 bar needed at the outlet: 13 + 10 = 23 m.
Then go by the flow the pump delivers at that total head, not its maximum flow. Full 3-step method and how to read the curve.

Performance curve: flow versus head
The curve below reproduces the catalogue trace for the 24 V / 280 W model. An indicative reading gives approximately 1 m³/h at 18 m total dynamic head. Total head includes elevation, pressure losses in pipes and fittings, and any required outlet pressure.
The 30 m figure is not a suction depth. This surface pump remains out of the water, close to the source; it is not a deep-well submersible pump. Flow falls as total head rises and also changes with sunshine. Have the operating point checked before sizing an irrigation network.

Which 400 W solar panel should you use?
Panel wattage alone does not establish compatibility. Check its electrical ratings and how they change with temperature. 24 V is the motor rating; the solar MPPT input operates between 30 and 48 V.
Power: at least 400 W
One 400 W panel is the intended setup. A lower-power panel may restrict starting and flow; a 400 W rating does not mean continuous 400 W production.
Voltage: Vmp 30–48 V, Voc < 50 V
Operating voltage must suit the MPPT range. Open-circuit voltage corrected for the lowest site temperature must remain strictly below 50 V.
Current: 15 A maximum
Check the module current ratings against the MPPT limit, including its Imp and Isc. Two panels in series are unsuitable for this single-panel configuration.

Prepare a working installation
- Establish daily water demand, elevation, pipe lengths and required delivery pressure. Locate the operating point on the curve, allowing for friction losses.
- Install the pump above water on a stable, protected base close to the source. Use an airtight suction line and filtration suitable for clean water.
- Prime the pump and pipework as instructed before first starting. Do not assume self-priming capability and avoid dry running.
- Connect the panel to the controller following the supplied terminal markings, using correct polarity, cables and DC protections. The concept diagram does not replace the supplied wiring instructions.
- Check leaks, actual flow and stopping arrangements when the source is empty or the tank is full. Any automation must use equipment compatible with this model.
Questions before you buy
Does it need a battery?
No battery is needed for the solar configuration described. Output follows available sunshine; use water storage if you need water at another time.
Is a solar panel included in the €399 price?
No. The VAT-inclusive price covers the pump with integrated MPPT. The 400 W solar panel is purchased separately and must meet the stated electrical limits.
Will it deliver 2,000 L/h at 30 m?
No. 2,000 L/h is the maximum flow at very low head, while 30 m is the maximum head at zero flow. Use the curve to assess intermediate operating points.
Can it pump from a deep well?
This is a surface pump. The 30 m figure is not a suction depth. For a deep water level, select a suitable submersible pump and have the system sized.
Can it connect directly to 230 V mains?
The configuration shown is solar DC. Do not connect 230 V mains directly to this pump or its photovoltaic input.
What do CE and ISO 9001 mean?
The model is stated to carry CE marking. ISO 9001 relates to the manufacturing quality management system, not certification of pump flow or performance. Applicable conformity documents are separate from this product listing.
Check the panel, head and flow together
