Three applications, three different sizings
- Seawater desalination (SWRO): high-pressure reverse osmosis, pre-treatment, brine discharge and remineralisation, all set by the water analysis and the daily output required.
- Brackish water (BWRO): lower salinity allows a different operating pressure, but the water still has to be analysed before membranes are selected.
- Marine and off-grid sites: footprint, 12/24/230 V supply, energy consumption, noise and maintenance become the deciding criteria.
What we need to specify a reverse osmosis unit

Without these figures a quoted output means nothing: the same unit does not produce the same volume from seawater at 35 g/L as from brackish water at 3 g/L.
Why the water analysis comes first
Membrane selection, operating pressure, pre-treatment and recovery rate all follow from the composition of the raw water. A unit chosen without an analysis underperforms, fouls early, or produces water that does not match the intended use. Send us your analysis — or we will tell you which parameters to measure.
Frequently asked questions
Is the product water drinkable?
That depends on the raw water, the treatment applied and the remineralisation provided. For human consumption, materials in contact must meet the minimum hygiene requirements of Directive (EU) 2020/2184, and the use must be validated against the rules applying locally.
What maintenance does a reverse osmosis unit need?
Periodic replacement of pre-filters, chemical cleaning of the membranes according to fouling, and monitoring of operating pressures. Frequency follows directly from raw water quality and pre-treatment.
What happens to the brine?
Discharge has to be designed in from the start: flow, salinity and discharge point are subject to the rules applying to the site. It is a question to settle before ordering, not after.
