Flexible fuel and hydrocarbon storage tanks, for temporary or permanent duty. Folded, they occupy about 1 % of their nominal capacity, deploy in a few hours, and are built by autoclave vulcanisation — no mechanical joint to fail.

Regulated storage: confirm the position before ordering

Fuel storage is subject to specific rules. In England the reference framework is the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) Regulations 2001, which set requirements for secondary containment, bund capacity and the position of fill and draw-off points. Above certain quantities, or on regulated sites, further fire-safety and environmental permitting requirements apply. Equivalent regulations are in force in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Establish the obligations applying to your site before sizing — they determine the volume, the location and the associated equipment.

Why a flexible tank for this duty

  • Transport and deployment: folded, it takes about 1 % of its capacity in volume; a 300 m³ unit installs in under four hours.
  • No mechanical joint: hot vulcanisation in an autoclave, with no bolted seam to age.
  • Product protected: closed opaque membrane, with no light ingress and no rainwater entering.
  • Reversible: emptied and folded, the tank can be removed or relocated.

Which products can be stored?

It depends on membrane compatibility. Give us the exact nature of the product and supply the safety data sheet — without it, feasibility cannot be confirmed.

Is secondary containment required?

In most cases yes, and the required bund capacity is set by the regulations applying to your site. Settle this with the regulator before ordering rather than after.

Can the tank later be reused for water?

No. A tank that has held hydrocarbons is not converted to water duty, and certainly not to water intended for human consumption.
