Priming: the key to a successful start

Avoid damage from dry running by following this simple but essential priming procedure:

  1. Fit the equipment:
    • Fit the strainer to filter out debris
    • Install the non-return valve to hold the prime
  2. Prepare the pump:
    • Connect the suction line securely
    • Locate the priming plug on top of the unit
  3. Prime the pump:
    • Carefully unscrew the priming plug
    • Fill the pump body and suction line with water until it overflows
    • Retighten the plug firmly
  4. Start the system:
    • Check the electrical connections
    • Switch the pump on

This method gives a smooth start and extends the life of the equipment. Repeat the process after any extended period of inactivity to maintain optimal pump performance.
